Introduction:

Dr. Zhijie Qu's research focuses on studying the diffuse gas surrounding galaxies, known as the circumgalactic and intergalactic medium, and investigating its role in galaxy evolution. He specializes in characterizing multiphase diffuse gases using multi-wavelength observational techniques, including UV/optical absorption surveys, optical galaxy surveys, radio HI 21cm observations, X-ray data, and the Sunyaev–Zeldovich effect. Prior to joining the DOA, Dr. Qu was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago. He earned his BS from Peking University and his PhD from the University of Michigan.
