Introduction:

Dr. Zheng Cai is an observational cosmologist with broad interests in high-redshift galaxy, QSOs, intergalactic medium, and cosmology. He aims to build a novel technique that is designed to pinpoint the most massive large-scale structures in the early Universe and use them to constrain cosmology and galaxy formation. He is also building the largest sample of Lyman alpha nebulae that could potentially reveal the cosmic filament at z=2. In addition, He is leading a number of other projects that include studying the early metal enrichment of intergalactic medium (IGM) at z=4-6; constraining the Population III stars in galaxies at z=7; and probing the quasar host galaxies at z=2-3.
