Associate Professor
Introduction:
Wei Zhu got his PhD from The Ohio State University in 2017. Before joining Tsinghua DoA, he worked as first a postdoctoral fellow and then a senior research associate at the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics (CITA) in University of Toronto. Wei is interested in both theoretical and observational aspects of astrophysics, with a focus on exoplanets. Using a combination of detection techniques including gravitational microlensing, transit, radial velocity, and (future) astrometry, he searches for planets outside of our Solar system and studies the statistical distribution and architecture of planetary systems. Additionally, Wei is interested in the search of astrophysical compact objects, such as stellar-mass black holes.
