On September 14, 2023, the annual strategic meeting of the Department of Astronomy was held at the Faculty Development Center of Tsinghua University. Fourteen faculty members attended the meeting, and Academician Li Tipei was also invited. The participants had extensive discussions on the challenges and opportunities faced by the Department, the faculty recruitment, student training, computing resources and other topics. This annual meeting promoted communication and exchanges of ideas within the Department of Astronomy, and provided further ideas for future improvement.
