Title: Lensing, Dynamics & Mass Distribution of the Early-Type Galaxy

Abstract:

The mass structure, as one of the most important properties of early-type galaxy, is associated with the galactic formation and evolution. Nowadays, the gravitational lensing at the galaxy scale and dynamics information of the galaxy have been widely used to constrain the galaxy mass structure. In this talk, I will firstly introduce the background of galaxy mass structure on both dark and luminous sides. Then I will summarize the most common methodologies of lensing and dynamical modeling, focusing on how to disentangle dark and luminous components within early-type galaxy. Finally, I will present the test of lensing/dynamical modeling bias in my work.

Title: Sensitivity of strong lensing modelling for high-resolution radio interferometry image data

Abstract:

In the field of strong gravitational lensing, lens modelling is a significant process. With availability of higher-resolution image like VLBI observations, we have come into a new era of precision astronomy. In this situation, many traditional problems such as flux ratio anomaly have lost their original meaning and we can have a new perspective on understanding them. Despite such high angular resolution, I will show that the fitting results are still sensitive to noise, even if the input and output models are identical and simple. This is worth our awareness.

In this talk, I will talk about our recent work that reveals this sensitivity. Firstly I will give a brief background introduction. Then I will introduce the four basic procedures including generating mock data, catalogue fitting, optimizer fitting and MCMC sampling. Finally, I will show the results and give a summary of our work.
