In this talk the speaker will review their current understanding of giant planet and binary star formation, highlighting the key similarities and unique unknowns for each process. She will show how current observations support these theories using both individual object case studies and robust statistical analyses.
BIO
Kratter is an associate professor at the University of Arizona. Kratter earned her PhD at the University of Toronto and held postdoctoral fellowships at both Harvard and The University of Colorado. Her research interests include star and planet formation, accretion disks, binary stars, planetary dynamics, and computational fluid dynamics.
